Young Spenser?

Robert Parker's Spenser in a young adult novel? The adventures of Spenser when he was a boy? Ooooookay...

Bizarre idea, but we know some of the stories of when Spenser was a kid - including the bear story - from an earlier book - "Pastime", i think.

BTW: When i come here by following the links at the top of ComocMix pages, it breaks the ComicMix link chain.

Leaving aside the other problems for the moment, when would this thing be set?

I might be misremembering, but don't the early novels peg him as a Korean War vet? So he was a YA during WWII...

I just read the Amazon reviews. I plan to stay well away from the book, which apparently retcons Spenser's past to the point that, for instance, at the end of the bear incident, instead of taking the underage Spenser to a bar and buying him whiskey, his father takes him home and he and Spenser's uncles have whiskey and Spenser gets a coke.
