From whom, dare I ask?

I mean, really.

FCC Says It Was Flooded with Indecency Complaints Last Year

Movie & TV News @ IMDb.com – Studio Briefing

Although the Janet Jackson incident during the Super Bowl on Feb. 1 is largely blamed for touching off the current regulatory crackdown on broadcasting indecency, the FCC said Thursday that it had received 146,268 complaints about indecent material on radio and TV broadcasts well before then — during the last quarter of 2003. It received another half-million complaints about the Jackson breast-baring, it added.

  1. Only 146,268 complaints out of how many MILLIONS of people who watched tv last year? How many thousands of programs were aired? Buncha crack heads.

    Monkeys.

  2. It’s a well known fact in radio, polls and advertising that only a bout 1 to 2 percent of your audience will ever respond to anything as long as it’s voluntary.

Arbitron, for example, often includes a five dollar incentive to some segments of the population in order to get them to send in their ratings diaries.

So, despite the fact that it may seem like a small number, that 100,000 complaints is the tip of a very large iceberg.

You know, I love how some people are trying to blow off this incident as not such a big deal. Gee, maybe if more people agreed with YOU, you migfht get someone to listen to YOUR complaints.
