Mark A. R. K. touches on something I’ve been asking for a very long time with regards to the Bush election: If Bush is going to win, where is he going to pick up the extra votes?
He asks: Query: Does anyone know of a media outlet or commentator that supported Gore in 2000 and is supporting Bush today? (Not Hitchens: he was for Nader.)
I’ll go one further and even accept your own word: did anybody reading this vote for Gore in 2000, but now is planning to vote for Bush?
Bush didn’t win the popular vote last time around. Where is he going to get the votes this time around?
(Cynical echo: the same place he’s going to get more soldiers to join the armed forces… paid for out of the same budget surplus.)
From the rigged electronic voting machines, of course….
Lots of places! There are thousands of people who have turned 18 since 2000 and are now eligible to vote. We have thousands more who have become citizens and can now vote, some for the first time EVER in their lives! Thousands who voted for Gore have died since 2000. Thousands more won’t find time to vote due to work, personal issues, or just sheer laziness. Then we have the political strong-arming, rigged machines, and hanging chads to help him even more.
Personally, I think this will be a replay of 2000. Kerry will win the popular vote, and Bush will win the electoral college. Then we get four more years of this nightmare. Something to look forward to – UGH!
Cheer up, guys! You Democrats have a lot more criminals, illegal aliens, and dead people you can sign up to fake your popular vote with.
Can’t speak for myself, since I voted for Bush last time but I was surprised how many Gore supporters I know at school expressed the view that they were actually glad that Bush won after 9/11.
I know of family members who have been turned off by the extremism of some of the voices from the left.
For all that, it still seems to me that Bush should be in much more difficult waters than he is. Maybe he won’t get any more votes than he did before–if fewer people show up at the polls to vote for his opponent it won’t matter.
Making Every Vote Count… Over and Over Again!
No one replied to my previous assertion that Dems tend to commit voter registration fraud. I suppose that I should note that Republican’s tend to cheat too. But considering the title of this thread, I’m not worried about Bush’s extra votes. I’m worried about the Democrats overzealous attempts to get out the votes.
