Take this for what you will:
I was just at my local supermarket getting food for dinner, and Rep. Robert Menendez (D) was out there shaking hands. No big signs, just him and a few workers with him.
I spoke with him and asked if he’d been seeing the big numbers on CNN. He said that he’d getting reports on his Blackberry, and the numbers looked really good.
Then he said something shocking.
I asked if he needed anybody driven to the polls with two hours to go. He said, “No, I think we’re good. But thanks.”
You heard it here first– a politician turning away last minute offers of help to GOTV.
I think the numbers are going to be really big, folks.
I voted for Menendez, as I always have. His (ex?) wife, who was one of my teachers in high school, is also very nice, and I run into her now and again, most recently yesterday at the bank.
Glenn, do you live in Hudson County too? Perhaps Union City like myself, or thereabouts? I had no idea.
This just seemed like the perfect place to post this since it deals with the election aftermath.
In the last Topic, I pointed out how Gleen seemed to turn a blind eye to Democratic dirty tricks.
I was ignored.
I went off on a little rant after the election and called the Democrats and liberals “crybabies and whiners”. I accused them of throwing a tantrum because they lost the election. Well, the tantrums continue.
Vandals Hit GOP Headquarters in N.Carolina
RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) – Vandals spray painted vulgar messages on the walls of the North Carolina Republican Party headquarters and left a burned effigy depicting President Bush and Sen. John Kerry, police said.
and this one:
Americans flock to Canada’s immigration Web site
OTTAWA (Reuters) – The number of U.S. citizens visiting Canada’s main immigration Web site has shot up six-fold as Americans flirt with the idea of abandoning their homeland after President George W. Bush’s election win this week.
Man, when children don’t get their way….
In NC, I’d complain too if my vote was lost.
As far as Canadian immigration– would you rather they stay? And if so, why?
Well, it’s a Democratic administration. What’d you expect? Easley wanted to stay in office.
As for Canadian immigrants, go, stay, don’t care. What I DO care about is that if they don’t care enough to stick it out and help, then once they leave, they should lose the right to vote in this country. I’d rather see you voice your protest, than run away to another country when you don’t get your way. But if they leave, then let some incoming immigrant have their seat on the bus.
