Michelle Malkin: THE SAN FRAN GUN BAN
You’ve got to hand it to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. They are unrepentant, unabashed, and undeterred gun grabbers–and there ain’t nuthin’ that’s gonna stop ’em from trampling all over the Second Amendment.
You’ve got to hand it to Michelle Malkin. She’s unrepentant, unabashed, and unashamed about writing a book about how interring people of a suspect ethnic background is okay– but taking away their guns is a violation of their rights. The woman who wrote “When our national security is on the line, ‘racial profiling’ or more precisely, threat profiling based on race, religion or nationality is justified” sees no threat to life or limb when some maniac is able to easily obtain a gun.
Kee-ripes.
Isn’t it possible that just maybe she DOES see a threat to life and limb — one that comes when law abiding citizens find it nigh-impossible to get guns to defend themselves?
Would anyone object to racial profiling if, as a hypothetical, the cops knew that some local KKK boys were gonna burn down a black church and they concentrated their efforts on pulling over pickup trucks driven by white guys while waving on cars driven by blacks and latinos? Sure, it’s possible that the klan has cleverly recruited very very dumb minority members to get around this profiling (part of their Christmas “Share the Hate” program) but all things being equal, it would be a reasonable action.
I have a hard time seeing the police doing that. A ton of people would complain/write letters/pass laws etc. Basically, white skin isn’t enough to prove likely membership in that group.
(Imagine if the BLack Panthers made a threat against a mostly white congregation church, I doubt that people would sit on their hands if cops pulled over black people just because of their skin color.)
Why not? It’s not like something similar hasn’t happened before. The driving while black phenomenon is something I have seen. Hell, I’ve been pulled over while jogging. Jogging!!! Three times!!!!
