The Eighth Wonder of the World

Thanks to David Mack and the Sci-Fi channel, I was at the world premiere of King Kong tonight. No major changes to the story, just exceptionally executed with deep respect for (and many nods to) the source material, although there are some continuity problems and the film runs long in spots. If you had a problem with the giant spider scene in Return of the King, you might want to skip the film; but if you do see it, make sure you have a nice big screen. Naomi Watts and Jack Black are superb, and I’ll discuss them more after others have had a chance to see it.
