Yahoo! News – Yankees Balk at ‘Spider-Man’ Ads on Bases

Seriously– is there a possibility that this film won’t get enough advertising mindspace? That people won’t go out to see it in droves? This over-hype is rude, and worse, makes people think the movie is going to be worse than it is because they have to sell it so hard.

  1. They’ve got more than just a movie to sell. They’ve got a ton of movie-related merchandise to move, and given the competition it’s got to move fast. This is far more cut-throat than the movie take — they’ve got to “remind” parents and relatives about all that must-have stuff on the toy shelves, in the cereal isles and so on. Otherwise, sales will drop off and they won’t be able to command such high fees for Spidey-3.
