Andrew Gentile, known to many in the Long Island science fiction, gaming, and SCA community, passed away New Year’s morning after a long battle with a brain tumor.
Viewing will be Tuesday in Port Jefferson, hours are from 2-4 and from 7-9. He is going to be cremated, and part of his ashes are to be scattered at Pennsic this coming summer.
More details as I get them and can post.
Damn. A sad start to the year. My condolences, Glenn.
Condolences, Glenn. Very sorry to hear it.
Sorry for your loss, Glenn.
My condolences. I’m very sorry for your loss.
Oh, Glenn, I am so very sorry. I know we were all hoping and praying for the best. I know you’re hurting right now, but please remember the grace and dignity Andrew had and remember that he was at peace and ready for this to happen. Let that give you some comfort.
You know how to reach me if you need to talk.
Thank you for keeping me up to date… I was thinking of sending flowers, but perhaps a donation to the local library to increase their SF holdings would be better.
I’d also like to offer my condolences. If Andrew had a favourite charity please post what it was.
Glenn,
I just heard last night, I’ll be at the viewing tonight 7-9. It’s a very sad day and many will dearly miss Andrew. Maybe if your there I’ll see you tonight. I was trying to be prepared for this, but it’s still affecting me a great deal, you can never be prepared.
Dave.
Any library with a decent SF section, or small comics store, or specialty games store which either sold or displayed model kits is a worthy place to donate.
Hello…I was wondering if you could help me with regard to a classmate of mine from high school, Andrew Gentile. I found your blog when attempting to locate him. We (his classmates from Port Jefferson Class of 1985)would like to know if there is any type of a fund set up in his name or a charity that is receiving donations in his name. We only recently heard of Andrew’s passing and are terribly saddened by this news. Any information you can share with me would be very much appreciated.
I am so sorry for the loss of your friend & ours.
